God’s Word for Today: Vessel
For every trading ship and every stately vessel. The arrogance of man will be brought low and human pride humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day, and the idols will totally disappear.
Today’s photo shows the USS Zumwalt, the Navy’s brand new “stealth” 600 ft. long Destroyer. Its stealth capability doesn’t let it hide from radar, but rather makes it appear as a much smaller vessel. So, instead of looking like an ominous Destroyer that would wreak havoc on any shoreline it chooses, it appears to just be a midsize fishing boat.
Today know that God has provided one vessel only to give you access to Him. Jesus did not come to the earth in the stealth mode. Rather, he told all and gave all gloriously, so that you and I might find our Lord.
Prayer: Dear God, my vessel and my refuge, I thank you. Forgive me for thinking I could arrogantly find my own way through life. Help me today to drop my cloak of pride and to humbly accept the true greatness you offer for me. In Jesus’, the Destroyer of all evil, name I pray. Amen and amen.
