God’s Word for Today: Journey
Matthew 10:9-10. “Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts—no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep.”
Just imagine if someone told you that you were about to embark on one of life’s journeys and instructed you to not take a single item with you. Would you give the CRAZY look?
Is trying to be prepared keeping you from one of life’s journeys? Is your preparation the cause for not moving on with what you know you should do? Kind of funny how excuses easily add up to a person’s life being stagnant. Wouldn’t it be so much easier to not worry about being prepared for a journey, and just go? Or, would you rather tote around a few hundred pounds of excess baggage just to cover the possible “what ifs”?
Little secret here. If you are reading this, it means God has a journey for you. It also means that sooner or later if you don’t start on that journey, God will find a way to give you a little boost.
Today, start changing your outlook on what God has asked you to do. He never once told you to pack your bags and be prepared. God asked you to trust Him to provide. It is a good day to quit packing and start moving. Oh, how are you going to love the journey God has charted for you……………….
Prayer: Dear Lord, I am running out of excuses. Forgive me for my constant delays. Help me to learn to trust you to provide while I am doing your will. In Jesus’, who is the perfect traveling partner, name I pray. Amen and amen.
