God’s Word for Today: Cliché.
Throughout life, one is faced with many clichés. Some are quite useful, some worth sharing, and others that are better off forgotten.
Many of you who have or are now suffering mental or physical pain beyond all comprehension have probably heard, “God will never give you any more than you can handle”. This cliché needs to “go fly a kite”.
Isn’t it true that God will never give you more than you can handle? Isn’t God simply testing you? Aren’t difficulties and suffering like an on/off switch that God controls? Isn’t God the one that is to blame for your loss? Well……………??
The answers to the above questions are simple. They are No, no, no, and NO.
God does not “give” you pain. God does not “take” from you. God does not need to “test” you. God created you. God loves you. God already knows everything about you. God, even more than small town gossips, knows exactly what you are going to do before you do it.
Life is what delivers pain. Life and the circle of, is what takes our loved ones away before we are ready. “Life is a bitch and then you die”. Life causes cancer. Life causes terminal and continual pain. Life sometimes is ended before it gets a good chance to begin. Life has many “ups and downs”. That is “my story and I’m sticking to it”.
Now, some of this might seem harsh. And some you might feel the need to “agree to disagree”. But there is a very clear truth that needs delivered today.
1John 2:8. The darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.
God is not to blame. God is there just waiting for you to ask for help. God knows pain and suffering at all levels. He sent His one and only Son here amongst the living to experience what we face at one time or another in our lives. God is just waiting to give you “light at the end of the tunnel” and the “pot of gold at the end of the rainbow”. You just need to “stop and smell the roses”. Give God the thorns, Jesus already wore them. Every cloud, you give to God, has a silver lining……………………….
