God's Word for Today: A few years ago, I finally broke down and went to an Eye doctor. I hadn't had my eyes checked since being in the Navy. The problem of course was the fact that my arms were no longer long enough. It had seemed like a really slow progression, but for some reason the blurred vision was getting worse.
I inquired during the exam, "Doc, lately I have been having to use those cheap reading glasses from Walmart, and it seems like I am having to get stronger and stronger glasses all the time. Are these cheap readers bad for my eyes?" He thought for a moment , looked at me and said "No, you are just getting old".
Lucky for him, he was considerably older than me, so I found humor in his statement.
Luke 24:31. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him, and He disappeared from their sight.
So many times thru our lives, we lose sight of The Lord. Some worldly vision distracts us and pulls us away from our True path. It is almost like if we hold God at arms length, we can still see Him, but don't necessarily let Him give us direction. In our youth and young adulthood, we especially believe our vision of Life is perfect. We don't need God to help us see our Path. As we age, we start realizing that we aren't getting the clear picture. We finally get tired of running into obstacles. Our blurred vision needs correcting.
Today, realize no matter what you age, your sight could be improved. Why stumble in blindness when you can be walking with God's clarity.....
