God’s Word for Today: Bug
Malachi 3:11 “I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty.
Last night as I laid down to sleep, a June bug came to visit. How it made its way into the bedroom, from the great outdoors, I can only imagine. As it buzzed and slammed itself into every obstacle imaginable, I knew I had to do something. The sound of a June bug in distress is very similar to that of a giant Bumble Bee. Not good. It became necessary to rid the room of this disturbance if I wanted to get any sleep. I got out of bed, opened the door and gently coaxed. The June bug left.
Today, think of the bugs in your personal life that are an annoyance keeping you from having peace. These irritations have been around so long you are used to them. Even though you are already comfortable in your life, it is time to get up, take a moment, and rid yourself of that which is buzzing around your world, being a pest, and keeping you from your best………….
Prayer: Dear Lord, provider of all that is good, I thank you. Forgive me for accepting the bugs in my life, that with a little effort, I could rid myself. Help me to get this done. In Jesus’, who only wants to help, name I pray. Amen and amen.
